DMPA is a synthetically-produced chemical similar to the natural hormone progesterone, that is produced by a woman's ovaries during the second half of her menstrual cycle. Cyclo-Provera: Similar to DMPA, it is also an injectable birth control which uses a lower dosage of the synthetic progesterone found in DMPA with an added ingredient of estrogen which is intended to reduce side effects. Cyclo-Provera is administered monthly rather than every 13 weeks like DMPA. Cyclo-Provera is currently off the market. Norplant: Norplant is a system of six silicone capsules that are implanted in the inside upper arm of a woman, just above the elbow. Its primary component is an artificial progesterone called levonorgestrel. To purchase The Christian and Birth Control from the online CLR store, Family Treasures and Gifts, click here.
